Nexus Ponticus

Baltic and Black Seas, Working Together.

We connect people, companies and expertise across the two regions to explore practical cooperation in maritime innovation, entrepreneurship and civilian resilience.

An independent, nonpartisan initiative in development

Emerging areas of cooperation

Where we see practical potential

We begin with shared needs and complementary experience. These areas guide the conversations we are developing.

Maritime innovation and healthier seas

Water quality, marine data, coastal protection and cleaner shipping are possible starting points for shared work. We aim to identify relevant specialists and prepare focused exchanges or early pilot discussions.

Entrepreneurship and business connections

Companies may need market knowledge, industry contacts, startup experience or access to relevant investor networks. We explore where interests fit and prepare introductions around a clear business need.

Ports and civilian resilience

Port digitalisation, continuity of essential services and preparedness offer scope for reciprocal learning. We aim to connect operators, researchers and other specialists for discussions with a defined purpose.

A useful first step

A promising connection needs preparation. We clarify the need, look for a credible counterpart and help agree a manageable next step.

  • A short brief defining the need and expertise
  • A considered shortlist of relevant counterparts
  • A focused introduction with a clear agenda
  • An outline for an exchange, workshop or pilot discussion

Our role is to build connections and prepare cooperation. Technical design and delivery belong with the relevant specialists.
