Co-founder
Gela Andrew Suli
Georgian-American entrepreneur connecting international business experience with practical Baltic–Black Sea cooperation.

Why Nexus Ponticus?
Repeated visits to Finland and long-standing connections in the Nordic and Baltic region helped Gela see possibilities for wider cooperation. Over approximately a decade, his work with Jaakko has brought Finnish and Georgian people together through business forums, delegations, round-table discussions and educational exchange.
Gela initiated Nexus Ponticus and leads its development, building on those relationships and a belief that useful connections start with a clear shared purpose.
Experience he brings
Gela’s background spans technology, media, startups, investment and international business. He is Founding Partner and CEO of EXORDUS, founded Creative Caucasus and is a founder of the Georgian Angel Investor Club. His experience includes building entrepreneurship and investor networks and connecting companies with capital and expertise.
His earlier career included co-founding a New York-based creative agency, developing technology ventures, serving as CEO of Georgian Film and working as an investment and business-intelligence consultant in the Caspian and Black Sea region. He has also worked in Turkey and developed relationships across the Caucasus and Central Asia.
Trained as a mathematician, he holds a Master’s degree in International and Area Studies from Yale University.
Connections he is working to build
Gela is exploring how business, research and investment networks across the two regions could complement each other. Maritime innovation, entrepreneurship and civilian resilience are emerging interests, shaped by the needs and expertise of the people involved.
His writing on the two seas considers both their shared history and the practical value of learning from different regional experiences.
Beyond work
Gela spent many years in the United States, including time in Washington, Boston and New York. Reading, running and time in the mountains are enduring interests. His curiosity about history and the connections between places also informs his writing.
